Wouldn’t it be sad if everyone was exactly the same? Diversity is a good thing, and Toni Shiloh brings a fresh dose of diversity to the Christian fiction world with her stories. I’m excited to have her visiting with us again today to share her newest release, Grace Restored. Before we begin, let’s take a quick look at the back cover.
Michelle Thomas has it all. Beautiful and successful, she’s just opened her own law firm in Freedom Lake. What more could she want? When her old flame rolls back into Freedom Lake, she’s intent on ignoring him. But how can she give the widower and his precious twin girls the cold shoulder?
Still reeling from the death of his wife, Guy Pierre returns to Freedom Lake to take over as town sheriff and raise his twin daughters. Alone. Yet, life keeps throwing Michelle in his path and sparks of interest began to rise.
Will old secrets tear them apart again or can they find the faith to let God’s grace restore what has been broken?
Welcome back, Toni! Do you have a favorite character from Grace Restored? Why is this character your favorite?
While writing book one, Michelle Thomas became my favorite character. Her sass and resilience in the face of tribulation endeared me to her. While writing Grace Restored I realized how much her past impacted her and her choices. I felt for her and just wanted to give her a big ol’ hug and let her know Jesus loved her and it would get better. Since she’s fictional, I had to write those moments into the storyline. ☺
Aww! What do you hope your readers take away from this novel?
That no matter what lies in your past, God’s grace is enough. He can create beauty from ashes.
So true. Sometimes we feel like we need to “clean up” first, but He’ll do a better job of the cleaning if we’ll let Him! If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you most like to go?
I would go back to Italy. I went to Italy when I was in the Air Force but didn’t get to sightsee every place I wanted. Granted I was still able to see Venice, but Rome and other cities call.
Paper or e-reader? There are certainly pros and cons to each. Which is your favorite?
Honestly, it depends on where I got the book. I always check out paperback books from the library even though they have an eBook service. When I buy books, I usually buy them for my eReader. There’s just something about having so many books in one place. There’s an ease of use and carry. ☺
That is very true, especially as you get closer to the end of the book you’re reading. Do you have a favorite or “life” verse? Why is that one important to you?
Previously, I would have always said Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” But recently I read 2 Peter 1:9 and it just struck a chord in me. I plan on reading it aloud each morning. “For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.”
How quickly we forget… Can you give any hints about what you’re working on now?
Currently I’m working on finishing book four in my Maple Run series, which is published by Celebrate Lit Publishing. The characters have been giving me a run for my money, but God willing they’ll be done by the end of the month.
How fun! Thanks for taking time away to share with us today, Toni!
Your turn! What is your favorite verse right now?

Thank you so much for having me here today!
Loved this interview with Toni, and I am looking forward to reading her book! I already have an e-copy. I loved this: “That no matter what lies in your past, God’s grace is enough.” Amen! May favorite verse is from Psalms 37:25 “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” I love that God is faithful and He will never forsake us! Great interview!
Yes! Love that verse. Such sweet promise in it.
